Awake!

Today the first of my fellow travellers will get ordained, Ann, Ange and Ivo are being 'done' this afternoon.
Then 4 of us tomorrow. I have been reading views on faith by non-christians and also a very interesting book by Karen Armstrong 'the bible'. She is any ex-nun who has helped Dawkins disprove Jesus existed. She is however very open, very honest and a good writer.
We do not deepen our faith by shutting out the other views and if I believe my God is big enough God can work through them.
In one part she explains the name of Buddha.
It has parallels for me.
A mystic is passing Buddha and realises that he is someone exceptional. He asks him 'are you a God?'. Buddha answers no.
Are you a 'spirit', again Buddha answers no.
So what are you? Asks the mystic.
Awake answers Buddha.
And that is what his name means.
So on a day that my crew are starting to become Preists, pray that we might be awake!
