Retreat

What any odd word. Reminds me more of dunkirk than preparing for ministry.we gathered in the cathedral this morning. And the sub dean Andrew Nunn told us not to panic (sounded like Jonsey out of Dads Army).
We ran through the service I hope I remember what to do.

We were all wearing cassocks (black dresses head to toe). So it felt like 'its a knockout' when we had to kneel and get up again without falling over.
I have any admission to make I have never worn a dress before, skirts yes (well a kilt) but no dresses. Those of you coming on sunday should be in for a laugh.

We are all quietening down now.
The reality is getting stronger, I am comfortable with it butit is a big thing.
The local paper (southwark news) had a very nice piece about my getting 'done'.
This caused a couple of friends I had not spoken to in a while to make contact.
Thanks for the good wishes. Also Cynthia who is part of the team ministry in East Greenwich sent a card to the retreat. It means a lot thank you.

As I am on silent retreat I will post but not answer comments if that is ok
Love and prayers
Jeremy
